Yuri has more than a decade of experience in news media and the financial industry.
Yuri currently works at Weber Shandwick financial practice team where she leverage on deep understanding of their businesses combined with her ability to successfully engage the Japanese media.
Prior to Weber Shandwick, she assumed the twin role of senior strategist and press relationship manager a manager at global financial institution. As a PR manager with deep insights into financial products and markets, she was able to significantly raise her employers’ profile with traditional and social media in Japan.
Yuri’s deep finance-industry knowledge was cultivated in institutional sales at major American Investment Bank. During her seven years at the investment bank, she completed successful assignments in Tokyo, Hong Kong and New York and rose to the position of Vice President. She counted global blue-chip institutional clients and sovereign funds among her clients. During her time in New York, Yuri made regular appearances on Japan’s top financial news TV show, providing commentary from the trading floor.
Yuri can also draw on five years of newsroom experience, most recently at the broadcasting arm of Japan’s top business and financial media group. She successfully produced dozens of shows at major Japanese TV station, breaking news through exclusive interviews with people ranging from global investor Jim Rogers to Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
A Japanese national, Yuri is a fluent speaker and reader of English. She is also a keen student of French and Italian.
Yuri holds Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA) level I and II in Japan, and Series 7 and 63 from National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) in United States. She is also Six Sigma Black belt certified for project management and efficiency control.
